You are invited, as part of a small group, to a unique stay at a converted old farm in the beautiful and tranquil area of Vesterålen, Northern Norway. Enjoy the midnight sun, local delicious food, walking and boat excursions.
Dates: 31. July - 4. August 2015
Remote, quiet and stunningly beautiful, this is a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of modern life. You will also get the opportunity to experience the unusual natural phenomena of 24 hours daylight.
In a small group of maximum eight people, you get a personal introduction to the Arctic. We will go for lovely walks that quickly give you glorious views over fjords and mountains. There will also be opportunities to fly fish in the nearby lakes and sea fishing with the local fisherman. Delicious local food will be served, and there will be plenty of time to relax and just soak in the beautiful nature. At the same time it's a fun and sociable experience as you get to know the others in the group.
The difficulty levels of the walks are highly adaptable. Please bring warm clothes, rain- jacket and trousers and comfertable shoes for walking. For the very able mountain climbers; the guided climb of the nearby mountain 'Møysalen' can booked here: www.moeysalen.no
Lodgings
We can offer you attractive and spacious common areas with a view to the sea. With it's traditional interiors you get a good feel of how people used to live here. Still, the houses have all modern amenities - and very comfertable beds! If the weather decides to dish up a storm you can sit inside snug and warm, reading or surfing the net, on comfertable sofas and rest your eyes on the beautiful nature outside. The barn loft is like a small museum where you can see old things that have been used on the farm; tools, clothes and furniture.

Your Tour Guide
I am your tour guide and coordinator, Helene Hokland. I grew up in the area of Harstad, Northern Norway. My mother, Astrid, grew up on this converted farm we will stay at. My grandparents lived off the fish in the sea as well as farming - a very typical way of living in Northern Norway for thousands of years.
As a grown up, during my 17 years of living in London soaking up the international life there, I hugely enjoyed spending my summers in this secluded and relaxing place. When I recently moved back to Northen Norway, I decided I would show the stunning and undiscovered areas of my childhood to the rest of the world. I offer several unique Arctic tours at different times of the year. In the summer you can experience the midnight sun, and in the winter the northern lights - weather permitting – but always the special Arctic light, nature and culture here.
