With our expertice and local knowledge, we invite you to a unique introduction to Arctic landscape photography. The Arctic nature, weather and light of Northern Norway are transfixing, and the course is aiming to help you give a photographic expression to the feelings the Arctic evokes in you.

The course:
This is a 5 day introduction to Arctic landscape photography in the beautiful area of Northern Norway, within the Arctic Circle. We have local knowledge of the area, and we will take you on daily trips to the best places in the Vesterålen and Lofoten for taking those perfect photos. The unique 24 hour daylight here during the summer months gives unprecedented conditions for producing stunning photography.
The aim of the course is to enable you to transfere your own experience of the Arctic landscape and light, and the emotions the Arctic evokes, into to a finished photographic expression. There will be lectures and practical demonstrations in the field, and individual feedback in the field and post production. In a small group of seven, there is plenty of time for individual tuition.
There will be opportunity to go for walks in the landscape, and other optional activites like whale safari and fishing is available for an additonal price. Delicious local food will be served in the evenings back at the lodgins, where we can relax and go through and work on the images shoot during the day.
Difficulty level: Intermediate. Participants should have some knowledge of lightroom or photoshop.

Photo tutor and tour guide
Professional photographer Trym Ivar Bergsmo and tour guide and coordinator Helene Hokland, both from Northern Norway, will join you for the whole trip. In addition to this summer photo tour they present an Arctic Winter Photo Tour. In the summer you can experience the midnight sun, and in the winter the northern lights - *weather permitting* - but always the special Arctic light and nature here.

course tutor:
Trym Ivar Bergsmo is a highly acclaimed professional photographer, and an experienced photo tour tutor. Trym was born in Vesterålen and he is now based in Harstad, both in Northern Norway. He specialices in Arctic themes and subject areas. His images have often been published commercially nationally and internationally.
Trym also uses photography as an artistic expression, which has resulted in a long series of exhibitions at home and abroad, several book releases, collaborations with writers and performing artists.

tour guide and coordinator:
Helene Hokland is your tour guide and coordinator. Helene grew up nearby Harstad in Northern Norway, but she lived 17 years in London soaking up the international life there. When she recently moved back to Northen Norway, she decided she wants to show this stunning and undiscovered area to the rest of the world. Helene presents several unique Arctic tours, both photography and general activity tours, at different times of the year.
